CHILDREN IN MEXICO

There are more than 39 million children in Mexico, approximately one-third of the country’s total population.

CHILDREN WITHOUT FAMILY CARE

Approximately 131,000 children and adolescents in Mexico are currently orphans, due to their parents or main care givers death or abandonment.

INSTITUTIONALIZED CHILDREN

More than 64,000 children and young people live in Social Assistance Shelters.

CHILDREN AND VIOLENCE

Between 2019 and 2023, 5,741 children and adolescents died due to domestic violence.

MISSING CHILDREN

From 2019 to 2024, more than 8,000 children and adolescents have gone missing.

CHILDREN AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE

From 2019 to 2022, over 29,111 minors have been victims of sexual violence.
